Cambodia and Japan Explore Labor and Vocational Training Cooperation

Phnom Penh: Cambodia and Japan have entered discussions to explore opportunities for cooperation in the areas of labor and vocational training. The dialogue was held in Phnom Penh on February 22, between Heng Sour, Minister of Labour and Vocational Training of Cambodia, and a delegation of Japanese investors. The delegation was led by Susumu Tai, Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of Cambodia in Sendai, Japan, and Advisor to the Cambodian Prime Minister.

During the meeting, Minister Heng Sour highlighted Cambodia's readiness to collaborate with the Japanese private sector, emphasizing the country's rich human resources and skills that align with the requirements of Japanese businesses. He proposed the establishment of a skill and vocational training school in Cambodia, tailored to meet Japan's standards and needs, showcasing a proactive approach to fostering mutual economic growth and workforce development.

Susumu Tai expressed his gratitude towards Minister Sour for his constructive guidance, acknowledging the potential for smooth and fruitful cooperation in labor and vocational training between the Japanese private sector and Cambodia in the future.

This discussion marks a promising development in Cambodia-Japan relations, with both countries looking to capitalize on each other's strengths to address labor and vocational training challenges, paving the way for enhanced economic actions and workforce development in Cambodia.
